Lever drive

If the handbrake lever travels a distance of 5 to 8 clicks when tightened to the stop, the handbrake adjustment is correct. If the travel is less than 5 clicks, the brake pads will be partially pressed against the brake disc. If the travel is more than 8 clicks, the handbrake braking efficiency is insufficient.

1. To access the handbrake cable adjuster, remove the center console.

2. Loosen the locknut (top nut) and adjust the position of the adjusting nut so that when the handbrake lever is tightened, its stroke is 5-8 clicks.

3. Install the center console.

Pedal drive

1. Slowly press the parking brake pedal all the way down. The pedal travel should be 3 to 5 clicks. If the pedal travel is less than 3 clicks, the parking brake pads do not fully disengage from the brake disc. If the travel is more than 6 clicks, the parking brake does not brake the vehicle.

2. Remove the center console.

3. Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjusting nut to adjust the cable position so that the pedal travel is 3-6 clicks. Tighten the lock nut.

4. Install the center console.

5. Install the brake disc.
