Removing
1. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
Attention! If your radio has an anti-theft code, check that you have the pairing codes before disconnecting the battery.
Attention! On models since 1993, the airbag system is disabled if the battery is disconnected for an extended period. If the airbag warning light comes on and stays on after reconnecting the battery, take it to a specialist workshop to restore the system to normal.
2. Under the instrument panel, disconnect the pushrod from the top of the clutch pedal.
3. Unscrew the pipeline at the rear of the clutch master cylinder.
4. In the passenger compartment, unscrew the nuts securing the clutch master cylinder to the bulkhead of the engine compartment and, being careful, remove the clutch master cylinder.
Installation
1. Install the clutch master cylinder to the bulkhead of the engine compartment and secure with nuts.
2. Connect the pipeline to the clutch master cylinder.
3. Connect the pushrod to the clutch pedal.
4. Fill the clutch master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid and bleed the hydraulic system.
5. Check clutch pedal height and free play and adjust if necessary.
