Bleeding the hydraulic clutch system [Toyota Camry XV10]

The bleed nipple is located on the side of the clutch slave cylinder.

1. Unscrew the cap of the feed tank and check that the brake fluid level in the tank is at the max mark. When removing air, monitor the presence of fluid in the tank, not allowing its bottom to be exposed, since this will again introduce air into the system.

2. Remove the dust cap from the bleed nipple and place a clean transparent hose on it, the other end of which must be lowered into a container partially filled with brake fluid.

3. Press the clutch pedal sharply several times at intervals of 2–3 seconds. Unscrew the bleed nipple by half a turn while pressing the pedal. Continuing to press the pedal, force the fluid in the system together with the air through the hose into the container. After the pedal reaches the extreme forward position and the fluid is no longer forced out through the hose, screw the bleed nipple all the way in.

4. Repeat these steps until no more air comes out of the hose.

5. While holding the pedal down, tighten the fitting until it stops and remove the hose.

6. Wipe the bleed nipple clean and install the protective cap.
