Tools needed to change spark plugs
1. Deep nozzle; 2. Torque wrench; 3. Ratchet wrench; 4. Extension cord; 5. Wire gauge for checking spark plug gaps
1. Inspect new spark plugs for cracks or damage.
2. Use a wire gauge to check the spark gap.
3. If necessary, adjust the gap by bending the side electrode.
4. On six-cylinder engines, remove the bolt (A), disconnect the wire (IN) and remove the ignition coil to gain access to the spark plug.
5. Disconnect wires from spark plugs.
6. Use compressed air to clean the area around the spark plugs and remove the spark plugs using a deep socket and extension.
7. Before installing new spark plugs, lubricate their threads with an anti-corrosion compound. Screw the spark plugs into place using a piece of rubber hose as a universal joint so as not to damage the threads. Tighten the spark plugs to the required torque.
