Automatic transmission fluid replacement [Toyota Camry XV20]

1. Drive the vehicle to warm up the automatic transmission fluid.

2. Raise the vehicle and support it on supports.



3. Place a pan under the transmission and unscrew the drain plug. Once the fluid has drained, wipe the plug and reinstall it.

4. Loosen the transmission pan mounting bolts and remove the pan

5. Remove the old gasket.



6. Pour out the old fluid from the pan.





7. Unscrew the mesh filter bolts and remove it.

8. Rinse the filter in clean transmission fluid.

9. Place the filter back in place and tighten the mounting bolts.



10. Unscrew the mesh filter bolts and remove it.

11. Wash the pan with solvent and dry it. Install a new pan gasket and install the pan on the transmission. Tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.



12. Remove the differential drain plug and drain the fluid.



13. Lower the car.

14. Remove the oil dipstick and pour new oil into the gearbox through the dipstick tube.

15. Start the engine and move the gearshift lever through all positions in turn. Put the transmission in park again and check the fluid level. Add fluid if necessary.
