Piston N1 is located in the front part of the right cylinder bank on the timing belt side.
Installation
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the spark plugs if necessary.
2. Remove the outer timing belt cover.
3. Turn the crankshaft so that the timing marks on the camshaft sprockets point upward and align with the slots in the timing belt cover. There are two marks on each sprocket (see table Camshaft Marks).

4. To set the piston to TDC, connect a special pressure gauge to the spark plug hole.

5. Align the slot in the crankshaft pulley with the zero mark (arrow) on the timing plate. When the marks are aligned, piston N1 is at TDC at the moment of compression.
