Intake manifold — removal and installation [Toyota Camry XV20]

Removal



1. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system and disconnect the negative battery cable.

Upper chamber of the collector



2. Drain the coolant.

3. Remove the two bolts (arrows) and remove the engine cover.

4. Remove the air filter.

5. Disconnect the wires and hoses from the throttle body, disconnect the throttle cable.



6. Disconnect the EGR tube (arrow) from the chamber.



7. Remove the two camera brackets.





8. Remove the bolts (A) and nuts (B) securing the chamber to the intake manifold below and remove the chamber.

Lower part of the collector



1. Disconnect the wires from the fuel injectors.



2. Disconnect the heater hose (A) and air supply hose (B) from the manifold and disconnect the fuel hose from the fuel line.



3. Unscrew the bolts and tighten the nuts (arrows), remove the lower section of the manifold - the numbers indicate the sequence of tightening the bolts and nuts.





4. Under the bottom of the manifold is a coolant hose (arrow). If you have removed the intake manifold, it is highly recommended to replace the old hose with a new one.

Installation



1. Thoroughly clean and wipe with acetone the mating surfaces of the manifold and heads.

2. Install new gaskets and install the lower manifold section and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

3. Install the remaining parts.
