Pic. 8.7. Anti-corrosion treatment of the Camry car body
The corrosion resistance of the vehicle body is enhanced by the use of anti-corrosion sheet steel, as well as anti-corrosion treatment, which includes the use of wax, sealant and special paint to treat easily corroded elements such as the hood, doors and panels (pic. 8.7).
Now anti-corrosion sheet steel is used in all parts of the body, except for the roof and internal elements.
Wax and sealant are also used in the processing of the folded areas of the hood, door panels and luggage compartment lid.
Before being released from the assembly line, the bottom of the car is factory treated with a polyvinyl chloride anti-gravel primer. In addition, parts of the panel surfaces and the hood are processed with it.
