Tire check
Check tire treads for wear indicators. If indicators are visible, replace tires. The location of the tire wear indicators is indicated by markings «TWI» or «L» etc. stamped on the sidewall of each tire.
The tires on your Toyota have built-in tread wear indicators to help you determine when to replace your tires. If the tread depth is reduced to 1.6 mm or less, these indicators become visible. If indicators appear on two or more adjacent grooves, the tire should be replaced. The thinner the tread, the more likely it is to skid.
The performance of tires for driving on snow is lost when the tread thickness becomes less than 4 mm.
The tire should be replaced if there is damage such as cuts, chips or cracks that are deep enough to show the inner layer, or bulges that indicate internal damage.
The tire should be replaced if it deflates frequently or normal repairs are not possible due to the size or location of the cut or other damage.
If air leaks while driving, do not continue driving with a flat tire. In this case, driving even a short distance may damage the tire so that repair is not possible.
Any tires over 6 years old should be checked by a qualified mechanic, even if no damage is visible.
Tires degrade over time, even if they have never been used or used rarely.
This also applies to spare tire and stored tires.
Tire change
When replacing, use only tires of the same size and design as the original tire and with the same or greater load capacity.
Use of any other tire size or type may seriously affect handling, ride quality, speedometer/odometer readings, ground clearance, and clearance between tires and bodywork or snow chains.
Attention! Do not install different types of tires at the same time on the car - radial, diagonally belted or with a diagonal ply, as this may lead to poor handling, and as a result, to loss of control.
Attention! Do not use tires of any size other than those recommended by the manufacturer, as this may result in poor handling resulting in loss of control.
Tire rotation
To ensure even wear and extend tire life, Toyota recommends rotating the tires approximately every 10,000 km (km). However, the best time to rotate your tires may vary depending on your driving style and road conditions.
When rotating, check for uneven wear and tire damage. Abnormal wear is usually due to inadequate tire pressure, improper wheel alignment, wheel imbalance, or heavy braking.
