2. For checking the drive belt of the attachments, see the section "General check and adjustment procedures".
Visually inspect the wires going to the generator, check the reliability of their connection, the condition of the wiring, as well as the presence of extraneous noise coming from the generator when the engine is running.

4. Check the battery charge indicator lamp circuit.
a) Warm up the engine and turn it off.
b) Turn off all additional equipment.
c) Turn on the ignition (key in the "ON" position). Make sure that the battery charge indicator lamp lights up.
d) Start the engine. Make sure the lamp goes out.
If the above conditions are not met, check the test lamp circuit.
5. Checking the generator electrical circuit without load.
Note: If you have a tester for checking the generator and battery, connect the latter in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
a) If you do not have a tester, do the following:
- Disconnect the wire from the generator terminal B and connect it to the negative terminal of the ammeter.
- Connect the wire from the positive terminal of the ammeter to the "B" terminal of the generator.
- Connect the positive terminal of the voltmeter to the "B" terminal of the generator.
- Connect the negative terminal of the voltmeter to ground.

b) Measure the generator output voltage and current from idle speed up to 2000 rpm.
- Current strength - no more than 10 A
Output voltage:
- at 25°C - 13.9-15.1 V
- at 115°C - 13.5 -14.3 V
If the voltage is greater than the specified value, replace the voltage regulator.
If the voltage is less than the specified value, do the following:
Connect terminal "F" to ground, start the engine and measure the voltage at terminal "B".

If the voltage is less than the specified value, check the generator.
If the voltage is greater than the specified value, replace the voltage regulator.
6. Measure the voltage at the generator output and the current in the generator-battery circuit at 2000 rpm, the high beam headlights on, and the heater fan switch ("HI") on.
- Current strength - not less than 30 A
If the current value is less than the specified value, repair the generator.
Note: When the battery is fully charged, the output current may be less than the specified value.
