Parking brake
When the parking brake is applied and the ignition is on, the control lamp is on. It should go out when the parking brake is released.
Brake system
Attention! If, after starting the engine, the control lamp does not go out or lights up while driving, this indicates that the level of brake fluid in the reservoir is too low. Stop immediately, top up with brake fluid, and drive carefully to the nearest TOYOTA service facility to repair the problem.
The control lamp burns at too small level of a brake liquid. The ignition must be switched on.
Battery discharge
If the warning lamp comes on while driving, stop, turn off the engine and check the condition of the alternator drive belt.
If the belt tension is loose or the belt is broken, you cannot continue driving. The condition of the belt should be checked and the belt replaced if necessary.
Since the battery is continuously discharging, turn off all electrical consumers that do not need to be turned on.
Engine oil pressure
The oil pressure warning light is not a means of monitoring the engine oil level. The oil level should therefore be checked regularly, ideally at every refueling.
The control lamp lights up for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on to check the operation.
If the control lamp does not go out, check the engine oil level and add oil if necessary.
If the warning lamp lights up or flashes while driving, at an engine speed of more than 1500 rpm, stop, turn off the engine, check the oil level and add oil if necessary.
If the control lamp flashes, despite the fact that the engine oil level is normal, you cannot continue driving. The engine should also not be idling. Qualified help is needed.
If the engine runs at an excessively low speed while driving (the rotation speed is lower than the idle speed), it may happen that the oil pressure warning light comes on. Then you should increase the engine speed with the accelerator pedal or change to a lower gear.
Low engine oil level
The control lamp lights up when the engine oil level is below normal. It is necessary to stop the car, check and, if necessary, add engine oil.
If the warning light comes on when the oil level is normal, contact your nearest TOYOTA dealer for troubleshooting.
Fuel supply
The control lamp lights up when the fuel supply drops to about a few liters.
Anti-lock braking system
The control lamp warns of a malfunction in the anti-lock braking system.
The control lamp lights up after inclusion of ignition or during start of the engine for some seconds. It goes out after the end of the automatic system health check process.
If the control lamp does not light up when the ignition is switched on, does not go out after a few seconds after the ignition is switched on, or lights up while driving, then the anti-lock braking system is not in order.
If the anti-lock braking system warning light comes on while driving, the vehicle may still be braked by one normally functioning service brake system without anti-lock braking system. Contact a TOYOTA dealer as soon as possible.
Warning lamp for open doors
The car doors must be closed.
Control lamp of burnout of external lighting lamps
It is necessary to check and, if necessary, replace burnt out lamps of external lighting.
Control lamp of malfunction of systems of the engine
The control lamp lights up at inclusion of ignition and continues to burn in an operating time of a starter. The control lamp goes out immediately after starting the engine.
Turning on the warning lamp when the engine is running indicates a malfunction in the engine systems. In this case, the electronic engine control unit goes into emergency mode, which allows you to continue driving. To correct the problem, contact the service center.
Do not operate the vehicle for a long time with the warning lamp on, as this can lead to increased fuel consumption, reduced traction and dynamic properties of the vehicle and serious engine problems. Brief switching on of the warning lamp is normal and is not associated with the occurrence of failures in engine systems.
