2. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
Attention! If your radio has an anti-theft code, check that you have the pairing codes before disconnecting the battery.
Attention! On models since 1993, the airbag system is disabled if the battery is disconnected for an extended period. If the airbag warning light comes on and stays on after reconnecting the battery, take it to a specialist workshop to restore the system to normal.
3. Remove the back seat.
4. To access the fuel tank, unscrew the screws and remove the protective cover.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector and fuel lines.
6. Remove the fuel pump cover bolts.
7. Remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank.
8. Remove the lower part of the fuel pump from the suspension.
9. Remove the rubber gasket from the bottom of the fuel pump.
10. Remove the bracket securing the fuel pickup to the fuel pump.
11. Remove the fuel pickup and check its condition.
12. If the fuel pump is being replaced, loosen the clamp and remove the pressure hose from the fuel pump.
13. Disconnect the wires from the fuel pump and remove the pump.
14. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
