Examination
1. Fill a full tank of fuel.
2. Remove the rear seat and fuel tank cap.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel tank.
4. Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between pins 1 and 2 of the electrical connector.
With a full tank, the resistance between pins 1 and 2 should be 2-3 ohms.
5. Reconnect the electrical connector and use the fuel almost to an empty tank.
6. Measure the resistance between tracks 1 and 2 of the electrical connector, which should be 110-115 ohms with an empty fuel tank.
7. If the resistance of the fuel level sensor does not meet the required values, replace the sensor. The resistance of the sensor can also be measured by removing the sensor from the fuel tank and moving it by hand.
Replacement
1. Remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank, on which the fuel level sensor is attached.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel level sensor.
3. Unscrew the screw and remove the fuel level sensor.
4. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
