Removing
1. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
Attention! If your radio has an anti-theft code, check that you have the pairing codes before disconnecting the battery.
Attention! On models since 1993, the airbag system is disabled if the battery is disconnected for an extended period. If the airbag warning light comes on and stays on after reconnecting the battery, take it to a specialist workshop to restore the system to normal.
2. Unscrew the locknut that secures the accelerator cable sheath to the throttle body.
3. Turn the throttle control lever and remove the accelerator cable from the groove in the lever.
4. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal.
5. Pull the accelerator cable into the vehicle interior.
Installation and adjustment
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the throttle is fully open.
3. If the throttle does not open fully when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed, loosen the jam nut and move the accelerator cable sheath to a position where the throttle is fully open.
4. Tighten the accelerator cable sheath locknut and recheck the adjustment.
