Checking the automatic transmission fluid level [Toyota Camry XV20]

Checking the automatic transmission fluid level should only be done with the engine warm. Start the engine and engage the park gear. Remove the dipstick to check the fluid level. Check the fluid level and its condition.

The automatic transmission fluid level should be between the two lower marks when the engine is cold and between the two upper marks when the engine is hot.

Wipe the dipstick, reinsert it and remove it again.

If the gearbox is cold, the fluid level should be in the COLD or COOL area. If the gearbox is warm, the level should be in the HOT area.
