Location of the 16-pin diagnostic connector
Access to the system is provided by connecting special scanners (OBD-II SCAN TOOL) to the 16-pin diagnostic connector (arrow), which is mounted under the instrument panel on the driver's side.
The system includes an on-board computer (Powertrain Control Module) and peripheral sensors that monitor the condition of the engine (sensors for oxygen, crankshaft rotation, temperature, etc.). To read diagnostic trouble codes in this system and identify them, special expensive scanners are required, so it is advisable to perform all types of work on diagnostics, repair and adjustment of the system in a dealer's car service. This section describes how to check and replace some of the components of the emission control system that you can perform yourself.
