Examination

1. Disconnect the connector (the sensor is located on the engine compartment bulkhead) and check for 5 V between terminals 1 (–) and 3 (+) with the ignition on. If there is no voltage, the PCM module should be sent for repair. The numbers indicate the terminals of the sensor connectors.

2. Connect the connector and check for voltage between terminals 2 (+) and 1 (–) by connecting the voltmeter probes to the back of the terminals and creating a vacuum in the sensor using a hand vacuum pump through the fitting (disconnect the hose from the sensor).

The information was taken from a web portal (www.ToyotaMAN.ru)

With the ignition on, the voltage should be as follows:
  • at a pressure of 100 mm Hg 0.3–0.5 V
  • at a pressure of 200 mm Hg 0.7–0.9 V
  • at a pressure of 300 mm Hg 1.1–1.3 V
  • at a pressure of 400 mm Hg 1.5–1.9 V
  • at a pressure of 500 mm Hg 1.9–2.1 V.

Otherwise, replace the sensor.

Replacement

1. Turn off the ignition.

2. Disconnect the connector, unscrew the bolt (indicated by the arrow) and remove the sensor.
