Elements of the electronic control system (4-cylinder engines)
1. Electronic control unit; 2. Throttle position sensor; 3. Switch; 4. Signal lamp of the switch; 5. Stop lamp switch; 6. Switch lever solenoid valve N2; 7. Switch lever solenoid valve N1; 8. Ignition interlock switch; 9. Switch lever solenoid valve; 10. Vehicle speed sensor; 11. Coolant temperature sensor
Elements of the electronic control system (6-cylinder engines)
1. Electronic control unit of the cruise control system; 2. Electronic control unit; 3. Throttle position sensor; 4. Switch; 5. Signal lamp of the switch; 6. Stop lamp switch; 7. Vehicle speed sensor; 8. Switch lever solenoid valve; 9. Solenoid valve N1, N2 shift lever; 10. Ignition interlock switch; 11. Switch lever solenoid valve; 12. Clutch speed sensor; 13. Solenoid valve connector location (4-cylinder engines)
On 4-cylinder engines, the solenoid valve connector is located at the front of the transmission, just above the ignition lock switch.
Solenoid valve connector location (6-cylinder engines)
On 6-cylinder engines, the solenoid valve connector is located opposite the ignition lock switch.
Checking the solenoid valves
1. Solenoid valves N1 and N2; 2. Compressed air; 3. Battery
1. To test the solenoid valves, apply battery voltage to the contacts of each of the solenoid valves.
2. If the valves are OK, you should hear a click.
3. Apply a stream of compressed air to each of the valves, approximately 65 psi. The valves must not let air through.
4. Apply battery voltage to the contacts again and check that the valve opens.
Fault codes
The electronic control system is equipped with an automatic troubleshooting function. The fault code is stored in the system memory, and then displayed on the engine status indicator panel.
