With the engine off, check the fluid level and top up if necessary.
Working fluid: ATF DEXROPf II or III.
Pic. 5.4. Levels «warm» and «cold» hydraulic fluid reservoir
Note. If the working fluid is warmed up, the fluid level is in the range «NOT» on the tank or dipstick, if cold - in the interval «COLD».
Warm up the working fluid.
Start the engine and set the idle speed.
Turn the steering wheel several times from lock to lock to increase the temperature of the working fluid to 80°C.
Pic. 5.5. Normal and foamed working fluid
Check for foaming or emulsification of the liquid. If foaming or emulsification is present, bleed the power steering system (pic. 5.5).
Check fluid level rise.
Measure the fluid level with the engine running.
Stop the engine, wait a few minutes and check the fluid level.
Maximum liquid level increase: 5 mm.
If the increase in fluid level is more than 5 mm, bleed the system.

Check fluid level again.
