Pic. 5.33. Installation of the driven shaft in the steering column housing
Using an expander, install the inner spring ring of the driven control shaft and install the driven shaft into the steering column housing (pic. 5.33).
Install the outer circlip of the driven control shaft.
Pic. 5.34. Installation of the radial bearing of the driven shaft
Using the special tool, install the output shaft radial bearing (pic. 5.34)
Pic. 5.35. Installing the Steering Column Housing Bracket
Install the steering column housing mounting bracket (pic. 5.35).
Note. When installing, use new taper head pinch bolts. Tighten them until the bolt heads shear off.

Align the marks on the intermediate shaft and steering shaft (pic. 5.36).
Insert the control shaft into the intermediate shaft housing.
Pic. 5.37. Alignment of the marks of the intermediate shaft and the steering column control shaft
Align the alignment marks of the intermediate shaft and steering column control shaft. Then tighten the connecting bolt (pic. 5.37).
Pic. 5.38. Installing the steering column assembly
Install the steering column assembly and tighten the 3 mounting bolts (pic. 5.38).
Tightening torque: 20.6 Nm.
Pic. 5.39. Steering column and intermediate steering shaft installation
Install the intermediate shaft assembly, align the marks on the intermediate shaft and steering column bracket, and tighten the pinch bolt (pic. 5.39).
Tightening torque: 35.3 Nm.
Perform the rest of the assembly in the reverse order of removal.
Before installing the steering wheel, route the central airbag spiral wire correctly.
Make sure the wheels are set in the straight ahead direction.
Twist the wire counterclockwise until it stops.
Pic. 5.40. Laying the spiral wire of the central airbag
Twist the wire clockwise two and a half turns and align the marks as shown in the figure (pic. 5.40).
Note. The wire can rotate two and a half turns to the right and left of the center position. After installation, make sure that the position of the steering wheel corresponds to the direction of travel.
Attention! If the steering wheel pad has mechanical damage, i.e. cracks, dents or other defects, it must be replaced with a new one.
Attention! Never use a steering wheel pad taken from another vehicle. Do not disassemble the pad assembly with the steering airbag capsule. Replace the lining only with a complete new one. When installing, make sure that the steering wheel pad is installed to the specified tightening torque.
