2. Adjust the clearance between the parking brake pads (pic. 1.133).
3. Install the rear wheel.
Tightening torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf cm).
4. Check the travel of the parking brake pedal (parking brake system with pedal drive).
Slowly depressing the parking brake pedal as far as it will go, count the number of clicks.
Parking brake pedal travel 3-6 clicks at 300 N (31 kgf).
5. Check the stroke of the parking brake lever (lever operated parking brake system)
Count the number of clicks as you pull the parking brake lever all the way.
Parking brake lever travel 6-9 clicks at 200 N (20 kgf).

6. Adjust the travel of the parking brake pedal (lever operated parking brake system) (pic. 1.132).
Depress the parking brake pedal by 3 teeth to provide clearance for the adjustment procedure and loosen the lock nut.
Return the parking brake pedal to its original position.
Turn the adjusting nut to bring the parking brake pedal travel to normal.
Depress the parking brake pedal 3 teeth to provide clearance for the adjustment procedure and tighten the locknut.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf cm).
Return the parking brake pedal to its original position.
Check if the parking brake system works.
Make sure that the control lamp 1 of the parking brake system lights up when you press the pedal.
7. Adjust the stroke of the parking brake lever (lever operated parking brake system) (pic. 1.133).
Remove the console top cover.
Remove rear air duct number 1.
Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjusting nut to bring the lever travel to normal.
Tighten locknut.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf cm).
Install rear air duct number 1.
Install the console top cover.
