Cylinder block (pic. 2.7) Made from lightweight aluminum alloy. The use of thin-walled cast-iron cylinder liners and aluminum alloy for the cylinder block makes it possible to realize a compact design. Cylinder liners are thin walled, so boring is not possible. Channels are made in the partitions of the cylinder block. As a result, air from the bottom of the cylinders flows more smoothly, and pumping losses (back pressure at the piston crown produced by the reciprocating movement of the piston) are reduced, which increases engine power. The oil filter and A/C compressor bracket are integrated into the crankcase, and the water pump chamber, thermostat housing and crankshaft rear oil seal holder are integrated into the cylinder block.
