5S-FE Engine Balancer Parts
1. Set the marks on balance shaft No.2 as shown in the figure.

2. Then turn the balance shaft so that the mark D is aligned with the pointer on the casing.
3. Using pliers, secure balance shaft #2 from turning.
4. Using a dial indicator, measure the play on balance shaft No.1.
5. Remove the dial indicator and turn the No.2 balance shaft so that the E mark is aligned with the pointer. Install the dial indicator and re-measure the play of the No.1 balance shaft.
6. Remove the dial indicator and rotate the balance shaft No.2 so that the D mark is aligned with the pointer. Install the dial indicator and re-measure the play of the balance shaft No.1. If the measured play exceeds the permissible limits in any case, the balance assembly must be repaired at a service station.
