Stop signal switch
1. Pedal height; 2. Pusher; 3. Brake light switch
The brake light switch is mounted on a bracket near the top of the pedal.
Removal and installation
1. Disconnect the battery from the ground, disconnect the wiring connector from the brake light switch.
2. Loosen the locknut and unscrew the switch from the bracket.
3. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Adjustment
1. Check and, if necessary, adjust the pedal height. See subsection 2.23.
2. Loosen the lock nut and rotate the switch until plunger protrusion A is correct (see subsection 10.2.). If it is not possible to check the protrusion, then adjust the position of the switch so that the plunger lightly touches the brake pedal stop. Tighten locknut.
3. Attach the wires to the switch, connect the battery to ground. Check switch operation. The brake lights should come on when the pedal is depressed and go out when the pedal is released. Otherwise, repeat the adjustment.
4. Check and, if necessary, adjust the pedal free play. See subsection 2.23.
