Removal
1. Remove the oil pan.
2. Remove the timing belt and lower idler pulley.
3. Remove the crankshaft sprocket.

4. Unscrew the bolts (arrows) and remove the oil intake pipe.
5. Remove the generator.
6. Remove the air conditioning compressor and move it to the side. Do not disconnect the hoses from the compressor.

7. Remove the compressor bracket.

8. Remove the power steering pump adjusting plate and move the pump away from the oil pump.

9. Remove the lower timing belt idler pulley.
10. Remove the bolts and disconnect the oil pump from the engine.

11. Remove the sealing ring. Remove the pressure reducing valve retaining ring, remove the retainer spring, spring and valve piston.

12. Remove the screws and remove the pump cover.
13. Remove the cover and take out the pump gears.
14. Thoroughly clean and wipe with acetone the mating surfaces of the pump housing and cylinder block
Examination
1. Clean all parts with solvent and inspect them for wear and damage.
2. If the spring or piston of the pressure reducing valve is damaged, all valve components must be replaced.

3. Measure the clearance between the driven gear and the pump housing.

4. Measure the clearance between the gear plane and the pump casing plane.

5. Measure the gap between the gear teeth – the marks on the gear surfaces should be facing outward. If the gaps exceed the maximum allowable standards, the gears must be replaced.
Installation
1. Replace the crankshaft oil seal. Lubricate the oil seal with multi-purpose grease.
2. Install the gears into the housing. The marks on the gears should be facing outward.
3. Fill the pump cavity with Vaseline and install the pump cover. Tighten the screws.
4. Install the pressure reducing valve components into the pump housing.
5. Apply a layer of sealant to the mating surface of the pump, install the sealing ring.

6. Install the pump sealing ring (arrow), insert and tighten the pump bolts.
7. Install the remaining parts.
