Turn driven gear #1 of balance shaft #1 in the direction of rotation until it stops, making sure that the marks on gears #1 and #2 are aligned (pic. 2.132).

Align the marks on the balance shafts No. 1 and No. 2, as shown in Figure 2.133.

Place the balance shafts in the crankcase. Apply a little engine oil to the threads and under the heads of the balancing mechanism cover bolts. Uniformly, in several passes, in the sequence shown in Figure 2.134, tighten 8 fastening bolts with a tightening torque of 22 Nm.
Paint the bolts. Tighten the bolts 90°in the above sequence. Make sure the marks on the bolts are now at 90°from their original position.
