Removal and installation
1. Remove the seat cushion and backrest.
2. Disconnect the sensor connector.
3. Remove the sensor.
A) Turn away bolts of fastening of a plait of wires.
- Tightening torque during installation - 5.5 Nm
b) Loosen the sensor mounting bolt.
Tightening torque for installation:
- 2WD models - 8.0 Nm
- 4WD models - 19.5 Nm
Examination
1. Check the rear wheel speed sensor.
A) Remove the seat cushion and backrest.
b) Disconnect the speed sensor connector.
V) Measure the resistance between the leads.
Rated resistance:
- 2WD models - 0.8-2.05 kOhm
- 4WD models - 0.65-1.8 kOhm
If the value is out of specification, replace the sensor.
G) Check for continuity between each of the terminals and the sensor body. If there is continuity, replace the sensor.
d) Connect the sensor connector.
e) Install the backrest and seat cushion.
2. Check that the sensor is installed correctly and that the tightening torque of the sensor mounting bolt is within the acceptable range.
- Tightening torque - 7.8 Nm

Checking the rear wheel speed sensor
1. Connect the oscilloscope to the speed sensor connector.
2. While driving at 20 km/h, check the waveform.
3. Make sure "WITH" = 0.8 V or more. If not, replace the sensor.
4. Check that "IN" is 40% or more of "A". If not, replace the rear axle hub.
