1. Remove the gearbox and flywheel.
2. The easiest way to remove the old o-ring is to hook the o-ring with a screwdriver and pry it out of its seat.
3. Also, the sealing ring can be removed from the socket by drilling two small holes in the ring located at diametrically opposite ends of the sealing ring. Insert two self-tapping screws into the drilled holes in the O-ring and use pliers to pull the O-ring out past the screw heads.
4. The most reliable method for replacing the crankshaft rear seal ring is to remove the oil pan and rear crankshaft cover along with the seal ring.
5. Install the rear crankshaft cover with the o-ring on wooden blocks and, using a hammer and screwdriver, knock the old o-ring out of the cover.
6. Using a block of wood and a hammer, install a new crankshaft seal into the rear cover.
7. Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and rear crankshaft cover and install a new gasket on the cylinder block.
8. Carefully install the rear cover with O-ring onto the engine.
9. Secure the crankshaft rear cover with bolts, tightening them to the required torque, while the lower edge of the rear cover should be flush with the lower edge of the engine block.
10. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
