Removing
Attention! If your radio has an anti-theft code, check that you have the pairing codes before disconnecting the battery.
Attention! On models since 1993, the airbag system is disabled if the battery is disconnected for an extended period. If the airbag warning light comes on and stays on after reconnecting the battery, take it to a specialist workshop to restore the system to normal.
1. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
2. To remove the cover from the rear cylinder head, remove the air filter housing, throttle and air intake.
3. To remove the cover from the front cylinder head, disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil and remove the ignition coil and unscrew the spark plugs.
4. Remove two nuts and five bolts.
5. Disconnect the rear wiring harness brackets and move the wiring harness to the side.
6. Unscrew bolts of fastening and remove a head of the block of cylinders.
Installation
1. Clean the mating surfaces of the head and cylinder head cover.
2. Install a new seal on the spark plug tubes.
3. Apply a thin coat of sealant to the cylinder head at the locations shown in the illustration and install the head cover with a new gasket.
4. Secure the cylinder head cover with bolts, tightening them to the required torque in several steps.
5. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
