Removal
1. Remove the rear trunk trim.
2. Remove the side trim of the trunk.
3. Disconnect the sensor and electric drive connectors.

4. Lock the rear steering gear in neutral position.
Removing the rear steering gear (4WS).
1 - side trim of the trunk,
2 - rear cardan shaft of the steering gear,
3 - rear trunk trim,
4 - steering gear assembly,
5 - cotter pin,
6 - protective wiring cover.
Note: If you are replacing the steering gear assembly, this operation may not be necessary.
5. Unscrew the three bolts and remove the wiring cover.

- Tightening torque - 5.5 Nm

6. Remove the rear steering gear propeller shaft.
a) Unscrew the bolt securing the rear shaft to the intermediate support.
- Tightening torque - 36 Nm

b) Loosen the bolt securing the shaft to the driven gear of the rear steering gear and remove the shaft.
- Tightening torque - 36 Nm

7. Disconnect the steering rod ends from the steering knuckle arms.
- Tightening torque - 60 Nm
Note: when connecting the steering rod ends to the levers to install the cotter pin, the nut may be turned at an angle of no more than 60°.

8. Remove the four nuts and remove the rear steering gear assembly.
- Tightening torque - 65 Nm

Installation
1. Installation of the steering gear cardan shaft is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Caution: Do not turn the steering wheel until the rear steering gear is unlocked.

2. Check the steering angles of the rear wheels.
3. Adjust the rear steering gear to neutral position.

30 - outer bearing ring,
31 - O-ring seal,
32 - guide rail cover,
33 - spring,
34 - rack guide,
35 - spacer,
36 - rack,
37 - bearing,
38 - sleeve holder,
39 - driven gear,
40 - retaining ring,
41 - bushing.
Note: when assembling, apply the following to the parts indicated by the arrows:
- white arrow, black arrow - consistent grease,
- black arrow - sealant.
