Replacing the propeller shaft seal (A540N) [Toyota Camry Vista-V40]

1. Drain the oil from the transfer case.

2. Remove the driveshaft.

3. Using a puller, remove the propeller shaft seal.



Drive shafts.
1 - side protective cover No.1,
2 - steering rod end,
3 - support,
4 - bracket,
5 - side protective cover No.2,
6 - cotter pin,
7 - nut stopper,
8 - rotation speed sensor (ABS),
9 - right drive shaft bearing support,
10, 11 - right drive shaft,
12 - retaining ring,
13 - right drive shaft bearing support,
14 - oil seal,
15 - bracket,
16 - O-ring seal,
17 - bolt,
18 - retaining ring,
19 - left drive shaft,
20 - steering rod end,
21 - cotter pin,
22 - rotation speed sensor (ABS),
23 - cotter pin,
24 - nut lock,
25 - oil seal,
26 - lower engine protection,
27 - Transfer case protective cover,
28 - automatic transmission protective cover.




4. Install the propeller shaft seal.



a) Lubricate the working edge of the oil seal with consistent grease.

b) Using a drift, install a new seal.



5. Install the driveshaft.

6. Fill the transfer case with oil.
