Pic. 2.95. Measuring the end play of the crank head of the connecting rod
Check the axial clearance of the connecting rod bearing. Using a dial indicator, measure the axial play of the crank head of the connecting rod by moving the head back and forth along the crank pin of the crankshaft (pic. 2.95).
Standard axial play - 0.160–0.362 mm.
Limit play - 0.362 mm.
If the end play is greater than the maximum allowable, replace the connecting rod assembly. Replace crankshaft if necessary.
The standard thickness of the connecting rod is 19.788–19.840 mm.
