(3S-FE, 4S-FE)
A) Using the special tool, disconnect the discharge line from the pump housing.
b) Using adapters, connect the pressure gauge as shown in the figure
Attention:
- When installing, the pressure gauge valve must be open.
- When connecting the adapters, do not use too much force to avoid stripping the threads.
(ZS-T)
A) Unscrew the nipple bolt and remove the gasket.
b) Using adapters, connect the pressure gauge as shown in the figure.
Attention: during installation, the pressure gauge valve must be open.
2. Bleed the power steering system.
3. Warm up the working fluid.
A) Start the engine and set the idle speed
b) Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock two or three times to warm up the fluid.
- Fluid temperature - 75 - 80°C
4. Check the pressure of the working fluid with the pressure gauge valve closed.
Close the pressure gauge valve and measure the pressure.
Minimum allowable pressure:
- 4S-FE - 6000-6500 kPa
- 3S-FE (2WS) — 6500 - 7000 kPa
- 3S-FE (4WS) — 8500 - 9000 kPa
- ZS-T - 7000 - 7500 kPa
Attention:
- Do not keep the tap closed for more than 10 seconds.
- Do not let the working fluid temperature get too high.
5. Check fluid pressure with gauge valve open.
A) With the engine idling, open the tap fully.
b) Measure fluid pressure at engine speeds of 1000 rpm and 3000 rpm.
- The maximum allowable pressure difference is 500 kPa
Note: Do not turn the steering wheel.
6. Check the fluid pressure when the steering wheel is turned to the extreme position.
With the engine idling and the valve fully open, turn the steering wheel to the maximum angle.
Minimum allowable pressure:
- 4S-FE - 6000 - 6500 kPa
- 3S-FE (2WS) — 6500 - 7000 kPa
- 3S-FE (4WS) — 8500 - 9000 kPa
- ZS-T - 7000 - 7500 kPa
Attention:
- Do not hold the steering wheel in the extreme position for more than 10 seconds.
- Do not let the working fluid temperature get too high.
7. Connect the discharge line to the pump body.
A) Disconnect the pressure gauge.
b) (3S-FE, 4S-FE)
Connect the discharge line to the pump body.
- Tightening torque - 45 Nm
Note: Be careful not to over tighten when tightening.
b) (ZS-T)
Install the gasket and tighten the union bolt.
- Tightening torque - 52 Nm
8. Check the fluid level in the reservoir and top up if necessary.
9. Bleed the power steering system.
