a) Check that there is no play in the outer joint.
b) Check that the inner joint slides smoothly in the axial direction.
c) Make sure that there is no noticeable radial clearance in the inner joint.
d) Check the integrity of the covers.

2. Remove the hinge boot clamps. Move the boot towards each other.
Caution: Do not disassemble the outer hinge.
3. Remove the inner joint cage.
a) Apply alignment marks to the inner joint race and drive shaft.

b) Disconnect the inner joint cage from the drive shaft.
4. Remove the triple joint.
a) Using a special tool, remove the retaining ring.

b) Apply timing marks to the drive shaft and T-joint.
c) Using a copper rod and a hammer, remove the joint from the shaft.
Caution: Do not drop the hinge when removing.

5. Remove the inner hinge cover.
6. Remove boot #2.
a) Clamp the outer joint shaft in a vice.

b) Using a screwdriver and a hammer, remove boot No.2.
Attention: Do not damage the rotor of the speed sensor (ABS).
