Ignition system with ignition distributor
Contactless ignition system for four-cylinder engines
Electronic non-contact ignition system for 3VZ-FE V6 six-cylinder engines
Ignition distributor for six-cylinder engine
1 - body; 2 – O-ring; 3 - fastening clamp; 4 – O-ring; 5 – distributor rotor; 6 - distributor cover
Ignition distributor for four-cylinder engines
1 – O-ring; 2 - distributor housing; 3 - capacitor; 4 - gasket; 5 - wires; 6 - distributor cover; 7 - distributor rotor; 8 - protective cover of the ignition coil; 9 - ignition coil.
A contactless ignition system with a distributor consists of an ignition switch, a battery, an ignition unit, a sensor, a coil, wires, an ignition distributor and spark plugs. The ignition system is controlled by the ECM. The ECM uses inputs from various sensors to calculate the required ignition timing and ignition coil storage time.
Ignition system without ignition distributor
The electrical circuit of the ignition system for the 1MZ-FE V6 engine without an ignition distributor
The ignition system without ignition distributor includes a camshaft position sensor, a crank angle sensor, 6 ignition coils and an ignition unit.
When working on the ignition system, comply with the following requirements:
- do not turn on the ignition for more than 10 seconds with the engine off;
- do not connect the terminals of the ignition coil to ground; this can lead to failure of the ignition control unit or ignition coil;
- do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running;
- constantly check that the ignition control unit is securely connected to ground.
