Removal
Warning! If your radio has an anti-theft code, check that you have the connection codes before disconnecting the battery.
Caution! On models from 1993 onwards, the airbag system is disabled if the battery is disconnected for an extended period of time. If the airbag warning light comes on and remains on after the battery is reconnected, contact a specialist workshop to restore the system to working order.
1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.
2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
3. Loosen the clamp securing the air cleaner hose to the throttle body and remove the upper portion of the air cleaner housing.

4. Label the wires, hoses and cables connecting the intake manifold to the rest of the engine components.

5. Carefully remove the wiring harness from the intake manifold.
6. Remove all heat shields and brackets and unscrew the intake manifold to cylinder head mounting bolts.
7. Remove the intake manifold from the engine.
Installation

1. Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and intake manifold.
2. Install the new gasket and intake manifold onto the engine.
3. Secure the intake manifold with nuts, tightening them in several stages from the center to the periphery.
4. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Fill the cooling system with coolant. Start the engine and make sure there are no leaks and that all systems are working properly.
