Remove the timing belt and its pulleys.
Remove the cylinder heads.
Remove the alternator, alternator belt adjuster bracket and bracket assembly.
Remove the emergency oil pressure switch.
Remove the A/C compressor bracket by removing the three mounting bolts.
Remove the intermediate pulley bracket by removing the two mounting bolts.
Remove the knock sensors by disconnecting their connectors.

Remove the engine wiring harness. Disconnect the engine wiring harness clamp from the bracket. Remove eight bolts, two nuts and remove the thermostat housing (pic. 2.313).
Remove the coolant pump.

Remove the oil filter (pic. 2.314).
Remove ten bolts and two nuts securing the bottom of the oil pan. Insert the blade of the special tool between the lower and upper parts of the oil pan and, cutting off the seal, remove the lower part of the pan.
After unscrewing the three nuts, remove the oil receiver and gasket.

Loosen the two bolts and remove the bottom cover of the flywheel housing. Having unscrewed seventeen bolts and two nuts, separate the upper part of the oil pan from the cylinder block using a screwdriver, inserting it into the grooves intended for this (pic. 2.315).
Remove the oil separator from the top of the oil pan.

To remove the oil pump, unscrew the nine bolts. Separate the oil pump with a screwdriver by inserting it between the pump and the main bearing cap (pic. 2.316).

Remove the O-ring (pic. 2.317).
Remove the cooling system plug by unscrewing the two nuts.
Loosen the coolant drain plug.
