Removing
Note: Installation is in reverse order of removal.
1. Position the pry bar as shown in the figure, check that there is no play in the knuckle arm ball joint.
2. Disconnect the tie rod end.
A) Remove the cotter pin and unscrew the nut.
- Tightening torque - 60 Nm
b) Using the special tool, disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle arm.
3. Disconnect the lower arm.
A) Remove the cotter pin and unscrew the nut.
- Tightening torque - 93 Nm
b) Using the special tool, disconnect the lower control arm from the knuckle arm.
Steering arm (4WS models).
1 - tie rod end,
2 - cotter pin,
3 - lower arm,
4 - steering knuckle lever.
4. Turn away two bolts of fastening of the lever of a rotary fist to a rotary fist and remove it.
- Tightening torque - 115 Nm
Examination
Check up the moment of scrolling of the spherical joint of the lever of a rotary fist.
A) Before installing the nut, shake the ball joint shaft from side to side several times.
b) Using a torque wrench, turn the nut continuously (one revolution in 2-4 seconds) and take the reading at the fifth turn.
- Scroll torque - 1.0 - 3.0 Nm
