1. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
Attention! If your radio has an anti-theft code, check that you have the pairing codes before disconnecting the battery.
Attention! On models since 1993, the airbag system is disabled if the battery is disconnected for an extended period. If the airbag warning light comes on and stays on after reconnecting the battery, take it to a specialist workshop to restore the system to normal.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the IAC valve, throttle position sensor (TPS), MAF sensor and EGR/EVAP solenoid valve.
3. Disconnect the accelerator cable and transmission control linkage from the throttle body.
4. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the intake manifold.
5. Tag then disconnect the vacuum hoses from the air intake chamber, EGR valve, ACIS valve and fuel pressure regulator (see fig. V6 engine air intake chamber).
6. Unscrew the bolt securing the air intake chamber bracket.
7. Disconnect the coolant supply hoses to the throttle body.
8. Unscrew the bolts securing the air intake chamber.
9. Remove the air intake plenum along with the throttle body from the intake manifold.
10. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. In this case, it is necessary to use new gaskets and sealing rings.
